PTA Council of Howard County

Volunteers needed: Two PTSA members to attend monthly PTA Council of Howard County meetings, held the first Monday of the month.

The PTA Council of Howard County serves the 72 PTAs and its 2,000+ members in Howard County, MD who through advocacy support the mission of PTA.

PTACHC members is comprised of each local PTA unit providing two delegates and its president to represent the PTA unit at council meetings held on the first Monday of each school month (with the exception of Sept. which is the Tuesday after Labor Day).

Each level of PTA (local, council, state, and national) has been established for the purpose of forming a nationwide movement to advocate the need to support and speak out on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, before government agencies, and other organizations that make decisions affecting all children.

The Council president, officers, and delegates represent the PTACHC on policy advisory committees with Howard County Public Schools and other community groups (HCDrugFree, Community Advisory Committee, etc.). The Council also sponsors events each year such as Reflections, parent involvement workshops, leadership training, scholarships, and After Prom).
