HC DrugFree, a nonprofit organization based in Columbia, Md., seeks to empower the community to raise drug-free youth. The organization was formed in 1995 as a response to the alarming number of teens using illegal substances, like tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. Today, an active board of directors and Executive Director Joan Webb Scornaienchi lead HC DrugFree.

HC DrugFree Programs and Events

HC DrugFree offers educational programs for parents and youth (and other community members who work with youth) from October to February at Howard County Public Schools and Howard County Public Library branches. While programs are planned with parents in mind, high school students are encouraged to attend (some teachers offer students extra credit for attending).
